Current openings

Power Electronics Engineer

  • Derive specifications for circuit design, development and test activities from system level requirements
  • Create and release electrical schematics
  • Perform circuit simulations and analysis
  • Lead prototyping, bring-up, debugging, documentation, product management, productization, and manufacture of responsible power electronic units
  • Flow down requirements to mechanical engineers to finalize the mechanical design of power electronic components
  • Coordinate and perform engineering development testing with electrical engineering team members, mechanical engineers, and propulsion hardware engineers
  • Oversee manufacturing of units post 100% engineering handoff to a contract manufacturer
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 3-5+ years experience in the design, development, test, and evaluation of power electronics
  • hardware, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in PCB design tools (e.g. Altium)
  • Proficient in electrical simulation tools (e.g. PSIM, SPICE)
  • Experience with high voltage power supply design and control of power generation and conversion
  • Hands on skills using oscilloscopes, current probes, frequency analyzers, and soldering for breadboard builds
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience designing circuits for use in a harsh radiation environment
  • Understanding of packaging aspects of power distribution with special emphasis of thermal and EMI design
  • Experience designing for electromagnetic compatibility and testing per MIL-STD’s
  • Experience designing circuitry which adheres to aerospace derating requirements
  • Experience with embedded software for power electronics, git, and Linux a plus
